Noin 30 vuotta sitten joukko taiteilijoita täytti laatikon satunnaisilla esineillä ja piilotti sen maahan jonnekin Harakan saarella – kuin jonkinlaisen aikakapselin. Vuosien aikana tehdyistä yrityksistä huolimatta laatikkoa ei koskaan löydetty.
En ollut kuullut tätä tarinaa ennen kuin keksin idean näyttelystäni Harakan saarella kesällä 2024. Ajattelin vain ottaa laatikon, piilottaa sen puun alle jonnekin saarella ja ne, jotka löytäisivät laatikon, voisivat laittaa siihen jotain tai vain tutkia, mitä laatikossa on.
Mutta nyt kuultuani ensimmäisestä piilotetusta Harakka-laatikosta saaren talonmies Eddy Bradshawlta, päätin tehdä tästä laatikosta uuden aikakapselin. Tervetuloa täyttämään se jollakin, mitä pidät tärkeänä tai vain satunnaisella muistolla tästä ajasta. Kerron pian vihjeitä laatikon sijainnista!

Yhteysvene lähtee Kaivopuiston laiturista, Café Ursulan vierestä tasalta ja puolelta (klo 14.30 ei vuoroa).
Aikuisen meno-paluu 6,5 €. Lapset ja eläkeläiset 4,5 €.

About 30 years ago, a group of artists filled a box with random objects and hid it in the ground somewhere on Harakka Island – like a time capsule. Despite years of attempts, the box was never found.
I hadn’t heard this story until I came up with the idea for my exhibition on Harakka Island in the summer of 2024. I thought I would just take a box, hide it under a tree somewhere on the island and those who found the box could put something in it or just explore what was in the box.
But now after hearing about the first hidden Harakka box from Eddy Bradshaw, the island caretaker, I decided to make this box into a new time capsule. I welcome you to fill it with something you think is important or just a random memory from this time. I’ll share clues about the location of the box soon!

The connecting boat departs from the Kaivopuisto pier, next to Café Ursula at even hours and at half (no service at 14.30).
Adult return fare 6,5 €. Children and pensioners 4,5 €.
Only card payment or mobilepay is accepted on the boat.
Lift up the white cape on the pier so that the boat knows to come and pick you up.
